This post  is part of a new series of blog postings called “Life as You live it” . They are designed to be short, sweet, to the point and provide you with hopefully … plenty of food for thought.  Please enjoy.

You and I use words all the time. No surprise there. We’ve been doing it for a long time.

Remember way back when we started to learn words. They were all new words then. Exciting words. Descriptive words. “This is a truck” … I have an Apple”.

Wow, great stuff!

As time has passed[ and we are so mature now], have you given any thought to the words that suit you best?

Not in a self-descriptive sense but hey, feel free to share some with me if you like. I’m talking about words that make you feel good, give you a sense of being- on- top- of- your- game, type words.

Words that you can use on a daily basis that will allow you to meet the demands of your Life. Words you can use to expand your horizons, if you dare.

Words are interesting creatures with habits all of their own.Words (1)

Some words are stand alone

Some words are best in symphony with others

Some words have the power to take your breath away [metaphorically speaking]

Some words have mystery

Some words are blunt

Some  words are dismissive

Some words are compelling

Some words hurt

Some words are motivational and Inspirational

Some words have a beauty about them

Out of all of this, which words have the most power for You?

Are you into the motivational words? A dash of Inspiration maybe?

Do you like the ‘mystery’ behind some words? OR  Do you like to string a few together for better impact?

Do your words make a difference to You and to others?

Do your words lift you up whether spoken out loud or silently? Is your self talk more of a hindrance rather than a help?

Yes Life Lovers, words express how we feel, think, celebrate, despair.

There’s a word/s for every occasion. Choose them well, especially the ‘self talk’ ones.

I’d love to hear your thoughts. Have you ever said something but meant something else? Have you struggled to find the right words to suit a particular occasion?

Which words light you up?

Words have such a tremendous impact. I just think of the things we say without realizing how they can affect someone, like saying “yeah, you’re just not very good at (fill in the blank).” That can really impact someone.

My words are love, compassion, and abundance. 🙂

      Hi Victor,
Terrific words there mate. You make an excellent point about impacting others with our choice of words … think before speak should often be brought into play.

I feel that the words we choose bring to light our individuality. We all have those words that we say or write over and over. The words I want to share are peace, joy and love. Thanks for the inspiration, David!

Yes, words have a huge impact on your life; both the words you use to communicate with others and with yourself. Since English isn’t my first language, I do struggle to find the right words on a regular basis. It’s funny that now that I’m speaking more English, it happens to me in German, my native language, too. I think that if we’re more conscious of it and start to choose our words more carefully, we can create a huge shift in our relationships with others and ourselves.

I am totally into positive talk!! Two of my favorite words are “I am” and then you fill in the blank after that. It’s very powerful I think!
    Thanks for a thoughtful post!
