7 Killer Mindsets for thriving in your Mid Life

Hello, fellow Mid Lifer. You and I are in a great space and a great place. Mid Life is the best part of your Life. Do you want it to be even better?

That’s right …  even better!

Here’s 7 of the best “strategies” or Mindsets, that I have found make my Life better ….. and they may work for You as well.

Take no B.S

Know where you stand, as a person and know what you want out of Life. Know that you have worked hard to be where you are now. Know your Truth. Continue to learn and grow the way that you want to grow. However, do not spend [waste] time with those who have agendas that don’t suit your pursuit of living fully. “Stand up, stand tall”. Walk your own path with confidence.

Improve on your base skills

Seek information from all sources. Always be looking to improve. Extract that extra 1% from everything that you do. Be open to receiving  good  from unexpected opportunities. Developing an attitude of Life long learning and growing will see you flourish. Yes … you can do this!

Be Thankful for being where you are

There’s no escaping where you are In Life right now. Being thankful that you have arrived at this stage of your Life sets you up for more gratitudes and pleasantries along the way. If you grudgingly accept that you are  a Mid Lifer, then you are blocking the good that can come to you. Do yourself a great favour … Accept Fully your current stage in life. Delight in this. Keep going. Enjoy.7 Killer Mindsets Blog Post

Imagine more

Longer term readers of my “work” here and at my former [and still alive] blog site know that I am Big on Imagination. Imagination is a force of “Good”. [I am using this word a lot today]. Without Imagination your Life’s canvas remains unfinished. Now, more than ever you need to imagine more, without boundaries, so as to build on what you have created for your Life to this point.

Be always Excited

You were as a child and I’m guessing right through into your early adulthood years. I am excited about most everything. The anticipation of something wonderful lurking just around the corner gives me a tingling sensation. Excitement keeps my mind and body sharp. Excitement will have you, looking forward to each moment , each day. Excitement is an Attitude and … an experience.

Believe

In all the things that you want to be right in your lifeStarting with belief in yourself and building right through to all aspects of your Life and how you want your Life to reveal itself. Without “Belief”, taking the next step toward anything is full of doubt. And when that happens your Life comes to a standstill. So, you don’t want that, do you? A healthy dose of “belief” in all the right places will help dismiss any ‘doubt’ that is blocking your path. Belief doesn’t just happen … it does take practise. So how about you start practising today? Spending the time on this will be time well spent.

Attitude

I believe that all of the above are an important part of living your best Mid Life. However, there needs to be a  spark  that allows these ‘parts’ to come together. Your Attitude is that spark.

Being Positive about the way you think, the way you live your life and toward the people who will come into your life … will bring you great reward. No doubt, you will have had obstacles to overcome and setbacks that have rocked your socks. Life has sucked on occasion.

However life doesn’t have to suck all the time. Indeed, a positive outlook on your day and a vibrant attitude,  will result in less suck and many more sweet spots ….. Try it.

Does any of this make sense to You? I hope it does.

Let me know in the comments below if I suck with this …  or all or some of this has hit the spot, for you. And don’t be shy … share this post around if you like it enough.

    Hi David,

Great list of tips here! The first one resonates with me – Take no B.S – by the time we are in midlife, we know who we are and can pick and choose who we want to surround ourselves with. Take care.

I love this David! You have it right. I’m 46(does that count as midlife?) and I am loving it. I am more content now than I have ever been and not so grown up anymore that I have forgotten how to have fun. the only thing I don’t enjoy all that much is perimenopause, but hey, what’s a girl to do. So thankful I have found your blog. 🙂

This made me smile David. We’re always at choice as to who we are…it’s just a question of making and sticking with the choices that work out well for us.

    Hi David,
Yes being Positive makes a huge difference I know from my own life and from observing those who choose to be negative.
Believing in oneself is the one I still struggle with and imagining one to do more of
    Thank you
