========================================================================

Colour is wonderful.

Black and white and shades of grey have their place as well however the brilliance of full colour sure does takes some beating.Life4

Your life is reflective of the colour  you use [or the lack of it].

You start with a blank canvas. I know I have used the ‘‘Blank canvas” scenario a number of times … and I’m going to use it again [sorry].

The beauty about a blank canvas is that you can use it as many times as you wish.

Pictures will be painted by you on many occasions as you travel through this life.

Some will frame your life exactly as you imagined. Some will miss the mark. Your aim will not always be true however your imagination is fertile.

And this is where you can begin to paint again, starting from scratch. Fresh thoughts, fresh plans, fresh actions, fresh choices.

And the best thing?  ….. you get to choose your colours. Yellows for brightness, red for action, blues and greens for deep meaning.

Let’s be honest here, shades of grey and portions of black sometimes come into your picture.  You can view these as reminders of times that were not so good … or aren’t of this moment.  If you constantly find yourself painting a picture with liberal splashings of grey/black AND you are dissatisfied with THIS picture, seek out someone to talk to.

Colouring in your life is inspired by your imagination, your dreams & goals and the action steps that you actually take. Each action step helps fill in your picture and fill your canvas.

Do you wish to be a shiny red .. a bright yellow .. an emerald green .. a deep sea blue .. or a coral island blue/green?  Or have a combination of all of these colours for your life?!

I’ve been a bit disparaging about the greys and blacks. The shades. Personally I enjoy sketching in pencil [my pencil Art] and enjoy the shadows  and images that I can create on paper. Maybe it’s my dark side?Art3

I have digressed. Living a life of dullness, surrounded by greys and black is not where you should be, in my opinion. Maybe this is an opportunity to allow in some dappled light [into your picture]? Fracture the dark then work on widening the gap until the light bursts through.

This posting is simply designed to make you think about colouring in your life if you have not already done so. Or at least consider adding some other dimensions of colour that may be missing from your life’s picture. For me, Colour portrays the excitement in your life. The dreams, goals, vibrancy, vision, imaginings, feelings and actions that are You.

You get to live one life only. There are no times for regret. You have the power to choose a life of colour or of not.

I hope you choose colour … in whatever array pleases you. You have the canvas. Create your Art. Display your Art. Colour Your Life.

    Hi David,

    Wonderful post, indeed.

Your post reminded me of how we have the choice to change our life paintings. If our current painting is too dark, then we can always as you say, add colour to make our life more vibrant and optimistic. I really liked your pencil sketch by the way.

    Thank you.

    Hi David,

I really enjoyed this post. Yes, we can really enhance our experiences here in this lifetime by using more “colors.” I also like to think that by introducing a variety of personalities into our lives from different places, origins, lifestyles, experiences, walks of life, and careers, we can greatly increase the number of “colors” we have at our disposal to make life wonderful. Nicely done.

That’s a good way to look at ourselves David – through colour. Food for thought. Thanks. 🙂
