How will I find my place in this world?

There are times when I feel a little lost. Just a little.

I know where I am going, my personal compass is set, yet there are times of feeling discomfort or even the feeling of being alone.

Have you ever felt this?

Our journeys differ, however we have a common theme. There are times for all of us when we may feel a little out of place.

Like there is a missing piece to a jigsaw puzzle. Or you have one piece to fill and the one you have in your hand won’t fit.

Is this meant to be?

Is my ‘place’ reserved for someone else? OR

Am I destined to create my own niche, my own space in this world?…are You?Blog3

Maybe…?

If you are feeling out of place, it could be for a very good reason. You do not fit in to the sameness. You are creative and want to express yourself as an individual.

If you can’t find your ‘place’, create your own….and that’s what I have been doing.

This world includes many, who have forged their own places. They haven’t waited to be allotted a place, fitting in snugly with the majority. Not peering out or daring to venture beyond “their place” in this world.

No, their inner thoughts, beliefs, actions have sparked them into creating a bigger place in this world. One where they are free to exercise their creativity and action their own thoughts without restriction.

So when you feel ‘out of place’ or vulnerable, on your chosen path…and you will, at times…..there is a bigger place reserved just for You…simply keep going. You can create your own if your desire is strong enough. Step out with Purpose.

Will you join me in creating a “place of my own”, if you are feeling a little out of place in this world?

Great plan David to create a place of your own. I find myself to not be necessarily one of the crowd. I like to do my own thing, spend time with friends, but I like my alone time as well. All the best.

    David,

We are the sum of our choices indeed. So, if we need a new place, we can choose to create it. Thanks for this encouraging reminder!

Hi David, I’m sure this resonates with a lot of people. We as coaches are sometimes held aloft as knowing all the answers – we don’t. Well I certainly don’t! 🙂 Like you I am living in my own ‘place’ – trying to create the perfect life. It’s an unattainable destination but the only journey worthwhile (for me). I hope that my struggles and successes will prove to be inspiring for others whether they are my clients or not. It sounds like you feel the same way. All power to you my friend. 🙂

“You do not fit into the sameness.” This line caught my eye and I realize it’s been true as long as I can remember. I wish I’d trusted myself to Step Out With Purpose long before I did. Better still, I wish we taught children how to do so.

Thank you David. You’ve given me something to ponder today.

It’s a big aha moment when you realise that the world you want doesn’t already exist… not exactly the way you want it anyway… and that you’ll have to eek out that world for yourself. Such a good topic David – and timely as well – as so many of us in this rapidly changing world are reshuffling the pieces to see where they might fit. Thanks for that 🙂

I find this to be true in my life right now. I am making some small changes that I am positive are going to enrich my life and my general attitude. Still, as I forge ahead, the uncertainty is gripping at times. What I find uncanny about it all is that as the uncertainty grips, the excitement in me soars.
